Guest Feedback - Corn Rigg Cottage
Cottage is excellent, the best and nicest place I have stayed so far. Everything you need for a short or long stay.
Claire & Simon the owners have made some thoughtful touches to the cottage - 5 plus stars.
Cottage is in ideal location to visit Penrith, Keswick, Ullswater, Alston and all the surrounding villages. The whole area is ideal for walking & sightseeing.
Cafe/Bakery Melmerby worth visit, lovely food and friendly staff also lovely gift shop and reasonably priced.
Fox Inn - Ousby and Shepherd's Inn Melmerby lovely meals and reasonably priced. Staff and locals great too.
Alston worth a visit - old town where Oliver Twist film was made. The Cumberland Inn a friendly pub for a lovely meal - dog friendly. Some excellent walks with dog around this area.
Definitely be booking again in the near future. Thank you Claire & Simon stay was great.
Weather was great too, only 2 mornings of rain, rest of stay was max 9 degrees, which is great for walking and sightseeing. Thank you for the Prosecco & chocs. Warm regards.

One word, Fabulous. Claire and Simon have thought of everything. The care and attention and details and the professionalism to make our stay one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Loved it.
We worried about the access to the shared garden for the boys, but not problems at all. We just talked to the people staying next door.
The Fox Inn was not open when we were here (Mon to Thurs). The food at the Shepherd's Inn Melmerby fabulous and very dog friendly. Busy even though in was October, I think you would need to book in Summer.
We've had a very relaxing stay. Claire, a couple of candle holders would be nice. But thank you so much. We will book again soon. Kind regards Steph and Bill and 2 boys (Elliott and Buster)

This was our second visit to Corn Rigg Cottage - we loved it so much last year we came back! We were blessed with lovely weather to go on our many day trips but also lovely and peaceful to sit outside at night.
The Welcome Hamper was much appreciated by us all (including Annie the dog).
We had a lovely time - thank you.

Another lovely week with far better weather than we saw during the "Beast for the East" last year.
Cottage was just as lovely as we remembered - clean, cosy, and the welcome hamper was fab!
An ideal base to explore the Lake District with some beautiful scenic drives to the Lakes.
A stunning view from the front door, and friendly, welcoming locals - what more could you ask for!
The log burner was much enjoyed by Fidget the dog and we found Home Bargains in Penrith had plenty of cheap logs and kindling.
Thank you both for another lovely week.

What a lovely week we've had, great weather and time of year to be in this part of our wonderful country.
Thank you so much for letting us use the field in front of the cottage, it was great for last little walks before going to bed, Ollie and Sam loved it (dogs!).
Corn Rigg is a delight, we will be back.
A huge thank you for your professionalism and conscious presentation of this little cottage.
So clean! Really appreciated the attention to detail.
Dodd Wood walks are a must if you are new to the area and love walking, near Keswick, a range from short walks to Dodd summit, allow about 3 hours for Dodd summmit and it is tiring on the legs depending on how fit you are but SO worth it, what views! wonderful.
Thank you again for a great week.
Ps. the chocs and wine were great, thank you.

All 3 of us have enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage. Grace in particular was fascinated with the lambs - this being her 1st holiday and first encounter with sheep. The weather was very kind to us which made a big difference for our leisurely walks. The cottage had everything we needed and was lovely and warm. The wine and chocolates were a welcome touch and thoroughly enjoyed - thank you.

One of the cleanest , most pleasant cottages we have stayed in. Everything exactly right with lots of thoughtful extra touches. Thank you so much, I know it doesn't all happen by magic.
Beautiful walks in all kinds of weather and always a lovely warm cottage to return to. Favourite walk would have to be the one around Buttermere where we saw 2 red squirrels, but you really are spoilt for choice here!
Thanks for everything.

Had another wonderful week at Corn Rigg, weather was mixed but didn't stop us enjoying ourselves in the lakes, and surrounding areas.
Corn Rigg as usual was excellent!
Already looking forward to coming back next year.
Many thanks.

We have had a most enjoyable stay in your excellent cottage - The weather however has not been so good but you can't have everything.
Thank you very much.

A lovely relaxing stay in this lovely cottage set amidst stunning countryside. Just what we needed.
The cottage catered for all our needs and the wine and chocolates were very welcome. Thank you.
We visited beautiful places in the Lake District and more locally. We would recommend this cottage and the area to friends and family without hesitation. We would also visit again given the opportunity.
Thank you for a memorable stay.

We have had an amazing stay here. The cottage is lovely, had everything we needed for a relaxing break.
The weather has been incredible, couldn't have asked for better.

Thank you for our lovely, all be it brief visit. The cottage is beautiful and the views and piece and quiet wonderful. The weather has been kind to us and we've found some cracking walks. The wine and chocolates were a welcome touch.

We have spent a lovely week at Corn Rigg Cottage. We were very pleased with the cottage, couldn't fault anything. Glad we read the visitor's book and got plenty of tips of places to visit. Would recommend the steamer from Glenridding to Howtown and then a super walk back. Another great place to visit is the Whinlatter Pass Forest walk, we did this in the rain but still enjoyed it.
There is plenty to see and do and all within a short distance from Ousby.
We will definitely be back.
Thanks for the wine & chos, they were a lovely surprise.
